Technology developed at Medtechlabs showcased in Chicago
The new Photonova Spectra CT scanner was unveiled at the RSNA radiology conference in Chicago in November 2025. The technology underlying the new CT scanner was largely developed by Medtechlabs researchers Mats Danielsson and Staffan Holmin.
In a comment to the industry publication Medtech Magazine, Mats Danielsson explained the significance of Medtechlabs’ role in the development:
“This is the very last step before our research can benefit patients. We are very proud to have succeeded in going all the way from a research idea to a finished innovation, something that would not have been possible without Medtechlabs, the collaboration between KTH, KI, and Region Stockholm, and our proximity to Karolinska University Hospital.”
